CEES Advisory Group

The Online Ethics Center (OEC) is a program of the Center for Engineering, Ethics, and Society (CEES). The Advisory Group for the Center for Engineering, Ethics, and Society (AG-CEES) strives to strengthen the NAE’s collective voice and service to the nation pertaining to the vitality of engineering ethics in society, and public and professional interest in it. It works with the CEES director to develop plans and projects to enhance the field of engineering ethics in society, and the contributions of the engineering professions to it.

In the early years of CEES the Advisory Group was separate from the Advisory Group to the OEC; however, as the work of Center and website were closely integrated, the two groups were combined in 2012.  The AG-CEES is a group of up to fifteen members, appointed by the NAE President. Members serve no more than two consecutive terms of two or three years. The membership of the Group is drawn from the leadership of public and private institutions that play an active role in the development, promotion and evaluation of engineering and engineering education programs and in the development and assessment of engineering ethics research, education, and practice and includes a diverse spectrum of organizations and perspectives.
